The embassador of Italy in Mozambique, Gianni Bardini, said a few days ago that his country is establishing itself as an important economic partner and also intends to strengthen cooperation in the business field.
To discuss and find the best ways to strengthen partnerships between businessmen from Mozambique and Italy, the Italian diplomat, Gianni Bardini, recently held a meeting in Maputo with the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique (CTA).
According to him, for Italy, the partnership should not only be limited to oil and gas, but should be extended to other sectors of common interest, such as agriculture.
“Italy can give a lot in the sectors of mechanization, processing and transformation of agricultural products, where it has a lot of experience, as well as in renewable energy. The presence of these Italian companies can be fundamental for the development of Mozambican SMEs, which are the future of a country where industrialization will be fundamental for job creation,” said Ambassador Gianni Bardini.
It should be noted that Italy is the main European partner in Mozambique, where the energy sector, oil and gas is dominant, thanks to ENI investments, in area 4 and with the prospect of new blocks in Angoche, with the Coral FLNG project, starting next year.
Italy has also had a frequent presence at the Maputo International Fair (Facim).
“We intend to start a program of events, initially online, to continue to promote interaction between Italian and Mozambican companies, by strengthening the collaboration with the CTA,” stressed the Diplomat.
