Hours after taking office as President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden announced the country’s return to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Paris Agreement, suspended the construction of the wall with Mexico and instituted the mandatory use of the mask to stop VOCID-19.
A total of 17 decisions were taken by Joe Biden hours after he was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America.
Of the decisions taken, nine are a contradiction to Trump Administration policies such as the country’s return to the WHO after its withdrawal in July last year because Donald Trump accused the WHO of mismanagement of the new Coronavirus pandemic and collusion with the Chinese government.
In his early hours as President of the world’s largest economy, Joe Biden announced the US’s reintegration into the Paris Accord, from which it had officially withdrawn, and Donald Trump justified the decision with the fact that the global pact to contain climate change would put the US economy and workers at a “permanent disadvantage,” according to the Portuguese newspaper Expresso.
The newly elected US President also put an end to the construction of the wall on the Mexican border, one of Donald Trump’s decisions that would cost the country’s coffers just over $15 billion.
To contain the spread of the new Coronavirus in the United States, which has already infected over 24 million people and killed over 400,000, Biden launched the “100 Days Masking Challenge” initiative, which challenges Americans to wear masks over the next 100 days.
In addition to this campaign, the Democrat has created the post of Coordinator of the Response to OVID-19, which reports directly to the President and manages the production and distribution of vaccines and medical equipment.
Joe Biden also ends the 1776 Commission and orders the agencies to review actions to ensure racial equality, requires non-citizens to be included in censuses and taken into account in the congressional representation, puts an end to the barring of citizens of seven majority Muslim countries from entering the US and reverses the expansion of immigration control authority.
