TotalEnergies has started oil exploration activities in the offshore Kwanza Basin, Angola, the company announced. This marks the company’s first operation in this area.
“It is the first time that TotalEnergies will explore oil in the offshore Kwanza Basin. This is a great joy for all of us. Develop this project without accidents,” said Artur Custódio, Executive Director of the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), during the first steel-cutting ceremony for the Kaminho Project FPSO.
On the occasion, Artur Custódio called for the project to be carried out with a strong focus on operational safety, stressing the importance of avoiding accidents throughout the development phases.
