Luanda will host the “Natural Gas in Angola – Energy to Diversify, Grow and Lead” seminar on May 22, bringing together leading international experts from the energy sector.
The seminar aims to serve as a platform for reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, positioning natural gas as a strategic element for Angola’s economic growth.
Among the invited speakers are Fernando Montera, Natural Gas Regulatory Manager at the Brazilian Institute of Oil, Gas and Biofuels, and Vladimir Macedo, National Gas Coordinator at ABAR and adviser at AGENERSA. The confirmed participation of these two energy sector leaders reinforces the seminar’s international dimension.
According to the organisers, the event has the support of the Angolan Government and the Provincial Government of Luanda. In addition to international experts, it will also bring together policymakers, business leaders, specialists and students to discuss the role of natural gas in sustainable development and economic diversification.
The seminar seeks to establish itself as a forum for debating sector challenges and opportunities, highlighting natural gas as a strategic driver of economic growth in a context of increasing focus on energy transition.
The initiative also aims to promote knowledge exchange between national and international experts, contributing to Angola’s stronger positioning in the global energy landscape.
The agenda includes panels on sustainability and energy transition, natural gas as a transition fuel, technologies for reducing gas flaring under the “Zero Routine Flaring” framework, and carbon capture solutions.
“Tickets are available on the UZEKA and Ticket.ao platforms, and the event is organised and produced by Detalhe Estilo Eventos in co-production with OMNIA – Strategy, Creativity, Impact,” the statement said.
The Natural Gas in Angola Seminar is an initiative designed to promote strategic debate on the role of natural gas in the Angolan economy, bringing together experts, companies and institutions to discuss solutions that encourage sustainability and innovation in the energy sector.
