Angola generated $8.91 billion in oil revenues during the second quarter of 2026, a 54.71% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, the government announced on Thursday.
The figures were released by Angola’s Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio Correa Victor, during the presentation of the country’s quarterly oil and gas market review for Q2 2026.
According to the official, the sharp increase was driven by “higher prices in the international market.”
The report shows that the average Brent crude price for the quarter stood at $103.849 per barrel, representing a 28% increase relative to the previous quarter and a 52.98% rise compared with Q2 2025.
“In terms of commercialisation, during the same period, Angola exported approximately 88.12 million barrels of crude oil, valued at around $8.91 billion, corresponding to a weighted average price of $101.087 per barrel,” Correa Victor stated.
The volume of crude exported rose 2.22% compared with the first quarter of 2026 and 3.85% relative to the same period in 2025. China remained Angola’s largest export destination, absorbing 51.67% of total crude shipments, followed by India at 12.20%, Spain at 5.45%, and Indonesia at 5.08%.
Portugal received 0.85% of Angola’s petroleum exports during the period.
On the natural gas front, exports totalled approximately 1.52 million metric tonnes, with liquefied natural gas (LNG) accounting for 87% of the total volume shipped.
Natural gas export volumes increased 10.74% compared with the second quarter of 2025.
