In April this year, trading activity conducted at Rua Marechal Brós Tito, No. 41, Sky Business Tower, 8th Floor, in Luanda, recorded a growth of 148.98%, more than doubling compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Non-Adjustable Treasury Bonds (OT-NR) stood out as the preferred financial asset among institutional and individual investors.
According to the April edition of the Monthly Market Report released by the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA), trading volume reached AOA 817.66 billion (US$ 895.46 million), reflecting a significant increase of 148.98% compared to the AOA 328.40 billion (US$ 360.11 million) traded during the same period in 2025.

The strong trading performance was driven by the primary market, which accounted for 71.57% of the exchange’s overall trading structure. Within this segment, the Securities Trading Registration Market (MROV) led activity, generating AOA 419.18 billion (US$ 459.06 million), equivalent to 51.27% of the total traded volume. This was followed by the Repurchase Operations Market (MOR), which recorded AOA 166.05 billion (US$ 181.85 million), representing 20.31% of total trading volume in April.
Meanwhile, the secondary market, composed of four segments, accounted for 28.43% of total exchange trading activity. The Treasury Securities Exchange Market (MBTT) dominated this segment, trading AOA 229.35 billion (US$ 251.39 million), a sharp increase of 345.71% compared to the AOA 51.48 billion (US$ 56.43 million) registered during the same period last year. This segment represented 28.05% of total trading activity.
In line with this trend, the Stock Exchange Market (MBA) traded AOA 2.92 billion (US$ 3.19 million) in the fourth month of 2026, surpassing the AOA 420.77 million (US$ 461,390) recorded during the same period in 2025, representing a robust growth of 594.10%. Despite this strong performance, its share of total trading activity stood at only 0.36%.
Similarly, the Private Bond Exchange Market (MBOP) generated AOA 154.84 million (US$ 169,570) during the period under review, growing by 34.29% compared to the AOA 115.30 million (US$ 126,430) recorded in the same period of 2025. Nevertheless, its contribution to overall exchange trading remained marginal at 0.02%. In contrast, the Participation Units Exchange Market (MBUP) was the only secondary market segment to record a decline, falling sharply by 80.36% to AOA 706,000 (US$ 773.18).
Regarding the types of securities traded, Non-Adjustable Treasury Bonds denominated in local currency (OT-NR) attracted the greatest investor interest, accounting for 76.94% of total trading activity, equivalent to AOA 629.09 billion (US$ 688.96 million). They were followed by Treasury Bonds denominated in foreign currency (OT-ME), which represented 15% of total trading activity, corresponding to AOA 122.64 billion (US$ 134.31 million).
Shares of the five companies listed on the stock exchange generated trading volume of AOA 2.92 billion (US$ 3.19 million), representing only 0.36% of the exchange’s overall trading structure. Among them, BFA shares, traded under the ticker code BFAAAAA, stood out despite accounting for just 0.24% of total trading activity, remaining the most sought-after shares by investors, with accumulated trading volume of AOA 1.94 billion (US$ 2.13 million).
