BODIVA Profit Grows Fivefold in Q1 2026

BODIVA — the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange — recorded robust growth of 430.26%, roughly five times higher compared to the same period last year.

According to the financial statements, the main indicators of the regulated market operator showed positive performance, with receivables from third parties emerging as the most significant contributor to the institution’s asset base.

Between January 1 and December 31 of the current year, the Angolan Debt and Securities Exchange reported a profit of AOA 4.27 billion (US$ 4.68 million), representing a sharp increase of 430.26% compared to the AOA 804.88 million (US$ 882.55 thousand) recorded in the same period of 2025.

In the first 90 days of 2026, the capital markets operator, operationally led by Cristina Dias Lourenço, reported total assets of AOA 17.12 billion (US$ 18.77 million), an increase of 51.47% compared to AOA 11.30 billion (US$ 12.39 million) in the same period of 2025.

Within the asset structure, cash and cash equivalents — representing immediate liquidity — stood at AOA 10.48 billion (US$ 11.49 million) in Q1 2026, up from AOA 7.74 billion (US$ 8.01 million) in the previous year, an increase of 35.48%. This item accounted for 61.23% of total assets, making it the largest component of the balance sheet.

Another strong performer was receivables from third parties, which rose significantly from AOA 1.40 billion (US$ 1.54 million) in Q1 2025 to AOA 4.49 billion (US$ 4.93 million) in Q1 2026, an increase of 220.12%. This item, one of BODIVA’s key operational components, represented 26.27% of total assets.

Meanwhile, liabilities increased by 49.70% to AOA 4.78 billion (US$ 5.24 million), compared to AOA 3.19 billion (US$ 3.49 million in the same period last year).

Equity rose by 10.51%, increasing from AOA 7.31 billion (US$ 8.01 million) to AOA 8.07 billion (US$ 8.85 million).
