BODIVA Earns More in Three Months Than in the Whole of 2025

This marks the strongest quarterly start in BODIVA’s history. To put it into perspective, the profits generated in the first three months of 2026 alone were more than double the net profit recorded for the entire 2025 financial year. The performance was driven by a sharp increase in stock market activity and trading volumes, with operating income surging by 269%.

The BODIVA (Angola Debt and Securities Exchange) recorded a 430% increase in profits during the first quarter of 2026, reaching Kz 4.3 billion, compared with Kz 804.8 million in the same period a year earlier. In total, the Angolan stock exchange operator generated an additional Kz 3.46 billion in profit—five times more than in the first quarter of the previous year—according to calculations by Expansão based on the institution’s financial statements.

This represents the best quarterly performance ever achieved by BODIVA. The profits earned during the first quarter of 2026 alone exceeded by more than two times the net profit recorded throughout 2025, the year in which the institution achieved the highest profit in its history, amounting to Kz 2.6 billion.

The performance was largely driven by a significant increase in stock market activity and trading volumes. Operating income surged by 269%, rising from Kz 1.8 billion to Kz 6.8 billion, an increase of approximately Kz 4.9 billion compared with the same period of the previous year.

BODIVA entered the capital market as a listed company in December 2024 through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), as part of the government’s privatisation programme. In the transaction, the State sold 30% of its stake in the institution, raising approximately Kz 2.4 billion. Demand for the shares exceeded supply by 778.94%, highlighting strong investor interest in a transaction that marked the entry of the fourth company into Angola’s equity market.

BODIVA’s financial performance has also been reflected in shareholder returns. The institution currently ranks third among listed companies in terms of dividend per share, behind only BAI and BFA, the country’s two largest financial institutions.

This year, BODIVA will distribute Kz 2,609.2 per share, representing a 168% increase compared with the Kz 973.0 paid in the previous financial year. The dividends result from the distribution of approximately Kz 1.7 billion from 2025 profits, an increase of around Kz 487 million compared with the amount previously distributed.

The payout ratio stands at approximately 60%, reflecting the company’s strategy of rewarding shareholders while maintaining sufficient financial capacity to support future business growth.
