BFA CM, ÁUREA and BNA Led Stock Exchange Trading in May

BFA Capital Markets topped the list of traders on the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA) for the first time after closing May with a 14.54% share of total financial assets and derivatives traded, surpassing ÁUREA, which had led the ranking on three previous occasions. The National Bank of Angola (BNA), which had already topped the ranking once, finished in third place.

The nineteen (19) brokers and dealers operating in the markets regulated by the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA) traded a total volume of AOA 801.25 billion (US$877.49 million) through multilateral and bilateral transactions, representing a 53.08% increase compared with the AOA 523.41 billion (US$573.95 million) traded in the same month of 2025, according to BODIVA’s Monthly Report for May 2026.

The more than 50% increase in trading volume recorded in May was driven by the stronger contribution of the BFA Group’s securities distribution company, which executed the largest volume of financial asset and derivative sales in both multilateral and bilateral markets, amounting to AOA 116.49 billion (US$127.57 million), representing 14.54% of total market turnover.

This volume was enough for BFA CM to claim the top position for the first time this year. ÁUREA-SDVM ranked second among the best-performing traders on the Luanda stock exchange, trading AOA 82.01 billion (US$89.81 million) in multilateral and bilateral transactions, accounting for 10.24% of the total volume traded.

In third place was the National Bank of Angola (BNA), the institution responsible for the country’s monetary and macroeconomic policies and for the sale of government treasury securities to financial intermediaries through bilateral transactions. BNA recorded a trading volume of AOA 66.43 billion (US$72.76 million), representing 6.50% of the market’s total traded volume.

SAVINGS Records No Trades

Among the 19 financial intermediaries participating in the market, SAVINGS, a securities distribution company with no website and limited publicly available information, took part in trading activities but failed to close a single transaction, ending the month without any recorded trading volume.
