Strong Dollar and Rising Covid-19 Cases Set Oil Back

Oil prices are falling on Monday as investors fear that delayed vaccination plans in much of the world’s regions and the new rising number of covid-19 patients could impact demand for the commodity.

Brent – which is traded in London and serves as a benchmark for Portugal – is down 0.64% to $62.55 a barrel, while US WTI (West Intermediate Texas) is down 0.72% to $58.89.

In addition to the alarmism on the health front, investors are also weighing the rise of the US dollar on the price of oil.
