Opportunities for telecommunications partnerships in Angola — particularly the migration of Namibian operator services to the Angolan satellite ANGOSAT-2 — were the main focus of a meeting held Tuesday (17th) between members of Angola’s National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN) and the CEO of Telecom Namibia.
During Stanley Shanapinda’s visit to GGPEN headquarters, both parties agreed to initiate a Proof of Concept (PoC) that will allow Telecom Namibia to test connectivity services via Angola’s satellite, according to a note accessed by ANGOP on Wednesday.
In addition to technical cooperation, the agenda also included a discussion on Earth observation products and services, such as the Tech-Telco platform developed by GGPEN, which leverages satellite imagery to support mobile operators in field studies and network planning.
The meeting also addressed multimedia training initiatives and youth exchange programs between young Angolan and Namibian professionals.
