Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Timer Gas Stove 3 Pro, a smart appliance that automatically shuts off the gas when it detects a risk of overheating or a dry pot. The new product, available only in China, combines safety technology with energy efficiency, offering features that could change the way people cook on a daily basis.
The model, sold on the Youpin platform, features two gas burners rated at 5,200 W each, with thermal efficiency of up to 70%. The front panel is made of fingerprint-resistant AG glass, making it easy to clean and giving it a modern look. The removable grate and burner heads allow for height adjustments and part replacement without the need to completely disassemble the appliance.
The stove integrates with the Mi Home ecosystem, enabling remote control and alerts sent to your smartphone. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity open up possibilities for integration with other smart devices, such as compatible range hoods and voice assistants.
The stove’s key feature is its titanium pressure sensor, which monitors the pot’s temperature in real time. When it detects overheating or the absence of a pot, the system triggers an automatic shut-off mechanism that cuts off the gas flow and extinguishes the flame.
This feature is designed to prevent fires and reduce the risk of household accidents. The sensor only activates when it comes into direct contact with metal cookware; it is not triggered by ceramic, glass, or earthenware cookware, which may limit safety in certain situations.
In addition to automatic shut-off, the stove features programmable timers ranging from 1 to 180 minutes. When the set time is reached, the appliance shuts off the gas regardless of the pot’s status, helping to save energy and gas.
With a Level 1 energy efficiency rating, the stove can save up to 1,680 yuan (approximately R$1,226) in gas costs over eight years of continuous use. The calculation takes into account average monthly consumption and reduced gas leakage thanks to the automatic shut-off.
In practice, users can set up alerts in the Mi Home app to receive notifications about abnormal shutdowns, dry burning, or other non-standard events. When paired with a compatible range hood, both devices can be controlled together, enabling automations such as turning on the range hood when the stove is turned on.
The AG glass panel is stain- and scratch-resistant, keeping the stove looking new for longer. The internal metal frame ensures durability, while the removable burners make maintenance easy.
The Mijia Timer Gas Stove 3 Pro has a regular price of 2,299 yuan (about $240). It was launched with a special offer of 1,899 yuan, equivalent to approximately $210. Xiaomi has not announced any plans for a launch outside of China, indicating that the product remains available for sale only to Chinese consumers.
Compared to other gas stoves on the market, the competitive price combined with the advanced safety system could make the Mijia Timer Gas Stove 3 Pro an attractive option for consumers seeking technology and safety in a single product.
