New Color Makes This Huawei Smartphone One of the Most Beautiful on the Market

Huawei has officially introduced the Mate XTs, a new triple-folding smartphone that, even without many new features, manages to stand out thanks to a vibrant new purple version. The company also announced the second generation of its triple foldable—the Mate XT Ultimate—but contrary to earlier rumors, it will not be a completely new model like the highly anticipated Mate XT 2.

According to The Verge, instead of launching a brand-new device, Huawei presented the Mate XTs, which, although nearly identical to the original model, brings a few noteworthy updates.

The flexible display—capable of reaching 10.2 inches—now supports the use of a stylus pen. Inside, the device features the Kirin 9020 processor, previously seen in the flagship Mate 70 RS Ultimate. The camera system also received an upgrade, now equipped with a 40MP ultra-wide sensor, a significant leap from the 12MP sensor used in the first generation.

In addition to the existing black and red versions, the Mate XTs will also be available in two new colors: classic white and a striking purple.

The Mate XTs is also priced lower than the Mate XT, though as a triple-folding phone, its cost remains prohibitive for most consumers. While the original Mate XT launched in China at 19,999 yuan (around €2,400), the Mate XTs is now entering the Chinese market at 17,999 yuan (around €2,100).

Samsung Rival Coming Soon?

This new Huawei triple foldable may not remain alone in the market for long. Rumors suggest Samsung will unveil its first triple-folding smartphone at the end of the month.

According to ET News, Samsung is preparing a new edition of its Unpacked event for later this month, with the South Korean company planning to launch its triple foldable in November.

However, just like the Mate XTs, which will debut as a China-exclusive, it remains unclear whether all consumers will have access to Samsung’s first triple foldable. Besides its higher-than-average price compared to traditional smartphones, the device is expected to see a limited release, restricted to South Korea and China. Samsung is reportedly planning to manufacture only 50,000 units—far fewer than the 200,000 units cited in initial estimates.
