Google has announced that it intends to open its first retail store in New York City, specifically in the Chelsea area (in Manhattan) in the vicinity of the company’s campus in the city.
In addition to Pixel devices, customers of this store will be able to purchase products from Nest and even Fitbit. As with other stores of this kind, Google intends to help customers with employees and even ‘workshops’.
So far Google has mostly resorted to ‘pop-up’ stores, but with this retail store, it means that the company is committed to competing within the ‘hardware’ space.
