The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira, stated today in Luanda that Angola has modern and robust telecommunications infrastructure capable of meeting the current needs of the economy and society.
His remarks were made during the official opening of the International Technology Fair, where he highlighted the progress achieved since the liberalization of the sector in 2000, marked by the emergence of the first private operators and a clear focus on technical training for national professionals.
According to the minister, the country now has both terrestrial and submarine fiber optic networks that ensure national interconnection and global connectivity. Angola also has its own space program and infrastructure that supports access to services such as digital banking, telehealth, distance education, and a digitally transforming public administration.
