ANGOTIC 2025 Gathers 150 Startups

A total of 150 startups will take part in the 5th edition of the Angola International Forum of Information and Communication Technologies (ANGOTIC 2025), taking place in Luanda from June 12 to 14, according to information obtained by ANGOP from the event’s organizers.

These are emerging companies operating in sectors such as health, mobility, environment, ecology, technology, and software, among others.

Speaking to ANGOP on Friday about the event, the coordinator of ANGOTIC’s Startups and Innovation Subcommittee, Emília Dias, emphasized the importance of the forum, expressing hope for greater interaction between large and small companies.

Such interactions, she said, enable early-stage companies to gain momentum, grow, and adapt to the market — especially since experience shows that many startups use the event to consolidate and expand.

The 5th edition of ANGOTIC will be held under the theme “50 Years Communicating, Modernizing and Developing Angola” and is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of national independence, which will be commemorated on November 11.

According to the coordinator, the three best startups will be selected and awarded a cash prize along with other benefits, such as website development and integration into the incubator of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication (MINTTICS).

Emília Dias also acknowledged that, although Angola’s startup market is still in its infancy, the government has developed several initiatives aimed at certification, trademark and patent registration, and facilitating access to bank credit, in order to build an inclusive ecosystem capable of boosting the national economy.

The forum is promoted by the government through MINTTICS and aims to foster debate on current and future global ICT issues, as well as to encourage knowledge-sharing and networking among government entities, exhibitors, and specialists.
