Angola will present business opportunities for space startups that can assist the government in expanding internet access via ANGOSAT-2 during World Space Week, which takes place from October 4 to 10, ANGOP learned on Monday.
A press release sent to ANGOP indicates that the event, promoted by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, and Social Communication (MINTTICS) through the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), is an initiative showcasing the impact of space technology in strategic sectors such as finance, mining, oil, and gas.

The document adds that the initiative results from a partnership between GGPEN and INAPEM, aiming to boost entrepreneurship and job creation by training young people to develop space startups.
It further emphasizes that participation has accelerated the implementation of the five pillars of the National Space Strategy: the development of space infrastructure, capacity building and sector promotion, growth of the space industry and technologies, Angola’s international recognition in the space domain, and the creation of internal organizational structures to ensure the achievement of these objectives.
Activities will take place across all provinces and include film screenings, lectures, educational competitions, practical demonstrations of space technologies, and events in schools and institutions.
The central and closing event is scheduled for October 10 at the Luanda Science Center (CCL), where participating startups, demonstration results, and connectivity kits that could boost the national community internet market will be presented.
