Expo-Huambo 2026 Targets Foreign And Domestic Investment Attraction

Attracting national and foreign investment is the primary objective of the third edition of Expo-Huambo 2026, the director of the Huambo Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, Sérgio Likutu, announced on Thursday.

Speaking to the press, Likutu said the provincial government intends to leverage the province’s economic and social resources and potential during the event, with a view to promoting sustainable development.

The exhibition fair, which showcases the province’s products and economic potential, is scheduled to run from 24 to 27 September at the Botanical Garden of the city of Huambo — formerly the city’s zoo — with the aim of attracting both domestic and foreign business operators and expanding investment opportunities in the region.

Likutu noted that the registration process for exhibitors is currently under way, with participants expected to present the province’s economic and social potential to attendees.

Without providing detailed statistics, he said several companies from the industrial sector had already applied for exhibition space, which he described as a sign of confidence in the Huambo market and the investment opportunities it offers.

At the 2025 edition, Expo-Huambo drew 250 exhibitors, generated approximately 1,000 temporary jobs, and moved around 1.7 billion kwanzas in transactions and commercial agreements.
