During the inaugural meeting held in Luanda with the World Bank’s Director of Operations, the representative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) reaffirmed, in Luanda, the desire to invest in the development of the Lobito Corridor for agro-processing, industrialization, and energy projects.
The information was revealed by the AfDB’s Vice President for Private Sector, Infrastructure, and Industrialization, Salomon Quaynor, at the end of the meeting with the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano.
He announced that a technical team from the African Development Bank will visit Angola by mid-March to work with the authorities on developing ideas for agro-industrial processing zones.
The Bank has other structural projects in its portfolio, including initiatives in the Port of Luanda, which are expected to move forward soon, among other investments. “The AfDB also intends to share successful experiences from other African countries in order to support Angola in the conceptualization and implementation of agro-industrial processing zones,” he said.
