The National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) recorded a variation of 1.38 percent from February to March 2025. According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), comparing the monthly variations (February to March 2025), there was a slowdown of 0.21 percentage points. In year-on-year terms (March 2024 to March 2025), there was a decrease of 1.16 percentage points in the current rate of variation.
The provinces with the lowest price variations were Luanda with 1.18 percent, Malanje (1.23), and Lunda-Sul (1.41).
Provinces with the highest price variations included Bié with 2.09 percent, Moxico (1.88), and Cabinda (1.88). The “Transport” category registered the highest price increase, with a variation of 1.83 percent. Notable increases were also seen in the categories of “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 1.77 percent, “Hotels, cafés and restaurants” (1.75), and “Clothing and footwear” (1.62).
The year-on-year variation stands at 23.85 percent, reflecting a decrease of 1.41 percentage points.
Comparing the current year-on-year variation with that of the previous month, there is a slowdown of 2.24 percentage points.
