The Ministry of Finance has been authorized to proceed with the acquisition of new software designed for the exchange of tax and financial information, in a measure aimed at strengthening transparency and Angola’s compliance with international tax obligations.
The authorization is contained in Presidential Order No. 213/26, published in the Official Gazette on June 5, which formalizes the launch of a simplified procurement procedure for the acquisition of a software license, technical assistance, and maintenance of a specialized IT platform for a period of 36 months.
The system will support the financial information reporting regime, enabling the secure sharing of data within the framework of compliance with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), an international tax cooperation mechanism that promotes information exchange between tax authorities.
With the implementation of this new technological solution, the government aims to improve the management and transmission of financial information, strengthening oversight mechanisms and transparency within the tax system.
The presidential order delegates to the Minister of Finance the authority to carry out all necessary procedures to implement the contract, including the possibility of further delegation in accordance with the law.
The measure is part of broader efforts to modernize public services and strengthen international tax cooperation tools, at a time when countries are seeking to reinforce mechanisms to combat tax evasion and increase transparency in financial operations.
