The Ministry of Finance will proceed with the procurement of specialized consulting and financial assistance services to support the Public Debt Management Unit, in a move aimed at strengthening the government’s technical capacity to manage its financial obligations.
The measure was formalized through Presidential Order No. 219/26, published in the Official Gazette, Series I, No. 105, of June 8, 2026, and is part of the Government’s efforts to strengthen public finance management tools.
According to the decree, the contract will be awarded through a simplified procurement procedure, based on substantive criteria, with the aim of ensuring specialized technical support for the Public Debt Management Unit.
The services to be contracted are intended to contribute to improving the processes of monitoring, analyzing, and executing operations related to the national debt, thereby enabling greater control and efficiency in the management of public financial commitments.
The presidential order also authorizes the expenditure necessary to carry out the process and delegates authority to the Minister of Finance to conduct all procedures related to the contract, including the performance of subsequent acts and the possible subdelegation of such authority.
With this initiative, the government seeks to strengthen the technical tools for public debt management, at a time when financial sustainability and the optimal use of state resources are becoming increasingly important for the country’s macroeconomic stability.
The focus on specialized technical assistance also aims to improve the coordination of financial operations, increase the rigor of monitoring the government’s obligations, and strengthen institutional capacity in managing commitments made to domestic and international creditors.
