FNB Voted Africa’s Most Valuable Brand for the Second Consecutive Year

FNB ranks first in the South African Brand Finance® Global 500 Banking 2021 report as the most valuable brand for the second consecutive year. Valued at $1.3 billion, the FNB brand is highlighted with the best performance among the 200 most valuable banking brands in the world considering revenue growth per brand contribution, with historical revenue analysis and economic growth rates as key indicators.

For Jacques Celliers, CEO of FNB in South Africa “this recognition proves our resilience in dealing with adversity and in particular the huge challenge of the global pandemic. Despite the difficulties that customers and businesses continue to face, across the continent, the plans to implement vaccination programs in some countries are evidence of the ongoing efforts to minimize the impact of the pandemic on lives and livelihoods.  We are engaged and remain committed to maintaining a key and relevant role in all countries where our brand is present.”

“The innovations that the brand has been making available on the continent have changed the ease in which people and businesses relate to each other, as an integral part of a community and an extended economy, generating reciprocity in times of greater adversity. A model that we intend to replicate in Mozambique in the near future” added Peter Blenkinsop, CEO of FNB Mozambique.

According to FNB’s Marketing Director in South Africa, Faye Mfikwe, in the last year, the FNB brand has exceeded expectations by adding value to our Customers’ lives in a period full of uncertainty, by the effort we have made in providing financial relief to Individual and Corporate Customers, coupled with the fact that we continue to provide essential services while maintaining business continuity.

“Our market-leading digital solutions have enabled our Customers to continue managing their finances from the comfort of their homes. These are practical examples of our continued efforts and the realization of our promise to help and bring real value to our Customers’ lives,” concluded Mfikwe.
