Access Bank PLC Chief Executive Roosevelt Ogbonna travelled to Angola on Friday 31 July for a working visit aimed at deepening the Nigerian lender’s strategic relationships in one of sub-Saharan Africa’s largest oil-producing economies.
Ogbonna was accompanied by Seyi Kumapayi, Executive Director for African Subsidiaries, and Femi Jaiyeola, Executive Director for Risk. The delegation held senior-level meetings with Manuel Tiago Dias, Governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA); José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination; and Baltazar Miguel, Executive Director of state oil company Sonangol.
According to the bank, the agenda encompassed a series of meetings with key public-sector and corporate entities, with the stated objective of strengthening Access Bank Group’s ties with institutions regarded as strategic to the development of Angola’s financial sector and broader economy.
The bank said the presence of its top leadership in Luanda underscores the strategic importance it attaches to the Angolan market and signals the continuation of its institutional engagement with the principal players in the country’s economic and financial ecosystem.
