Angola's annual inflation rate fell to 9.33% in July 2025, slipping below double digits for the first time since 2015 and marking a deceleration of 0.78 percentage points from June and a decline of 10.15 percentage points compared with the same month a year earlier.
The reading is the lowest recorded in the National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) series since 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Among the main expenditure categories, Education posted the sharpest year-on-year price increase at 25.24%, followed by Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at 10.40%, Housing, Water, Electricity and Fuels at 10.17%, and Health at 10.16%.
In terms of contribution to overall price growth, Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages was the single largest driver in July, accounting for 6.30 percentage points of the headline rate. Education contributed 0.47 percentage points, Miscellaneous Goods and Services 0.46 percentage points, and Health 0.44 percentage points, with all remaining categories contributing less than 0.44 percentage points each.
At the provincial level, Cuanza Norte, Huambo and Cunene recorded the lowest inflation rates, at 6.00%, 6.59% and 6.86% respectively, while Cabinda (13.09%), Malanje (12.01%) and Lunda Sul (11.40%) experienced the highest price increases during the period.
