At an international meeting on the Importance of Assessing the Competitive Impact of Public Policies, recently held in Luanda, an initiative of the Angolan Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC) in partnership with the Portuguese Competition Authority (ADC) and with the support of the European Union, the Secretary of State for the Budget, Juciene de Sousa, highlighted the importance of competition as a pillar of modern and transparent governance.
The official emphasized that “state decisions must promote open and fair markets, avoiding distortions that limit competitiveness and economic growth.”
The ARC administrator, Nelson Lembe, pointed out that Angola has been making steady progress in spreading a culture of competition, but there is still a long way to go to consolidate open and balanced market practices.
