Lobito Atlantic Railway (LAR) reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable transport at ANGOLA RAIL 2025, a key industry event hosted by ATECFA in Luanda that brought together national and international stakeholders to discuss the future of railway development in Angola.
Representing LAR, Chief Operating Officer Nicolas Gregoir took part as a guest speaker, highlighting the critical role of collaboration between railway operators, regulators, and strategic partners in enhancing the country’s rail infrastructure. In his remarks, Gregoir stressed that building a more efficient and safer railway system requires joint efforts and aligned priorities across the public and private sectors.
The forum served as a platform for addressing key challenges and opportunities in Angola’s rail sector, including the integration of new technologies, safety protocols, and international logistics corridors—most notably the Lobito Corridor, a transcontinental route linking Angola to Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
LAR emphasised its ongoing mission to support the creation of a modern, integrated, and climate-resilient national transport network, capable of driving Angola’s economic growth and regional connectivity.
The event also underlined the importance of developing long-term partnerships and policy frameworks that prioritise infrastructure investment and operational excellence. With growing interest in Angola’s strategic position in African logistics, LAR’s participation in ANGOLA RAIL 2025 signalled both leadership and readiness to shape the future of rail transport in Southern Africa.
