The National Diamond Trading Company of Angola (SODIAM) will auction 74 special diamond stones, weighing 10.8 carats or more, between February 23 and March 4. SODIAM announced that viewing sessions will take place from next Monday until March 3 at its offices in Luanda. The bidding process will be conducted electronically, as has been customary.
In a statement, the company said the auction will be directed at clients registered in its database who have experience in the commercialization of special stones.
The special stones come from various sources: Luele mine (37), Catoca (14), Mussende (08), Kaixepa (05), Chitotolo (05), Lulo (02), Cuilo Kwenda (01), Somiluana (01), and Furi (01).
The statement also notes that in 2025 SODIAM exported nearly 17.8 million carats of rough diamonds, worth around 1.8 million dollars, positioning Angola as the world’s third-largest producer of rough diamonds in terms of value.
