Angola’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Gas, Petroleum and Mining (CCIGPMA) has called for the creation of new dialogue platforms bringing together investors, operators and public institutions to drive investment in the extractive sector and accelerate the industrialisation of the Angolan economy.
The appeal was made by CCIGPMA president Isabel Fonseca during the inaugural Angola Extractive Investment Summit (AEIS 2026), an event designed for the first time to bring the oil, gas and mining sectors together under a single forum alongside partners from banking, insurance, technology and renewable energy — creating a dedicated space to debate the challenges and opportunities facing the extractive industry.
“Normally there are events dedicated solely to oil and gas, or solely to mining. This time we managed to bring these sectors onto the same stage, together with the industries that support them, creating a unique ecosystem for debate and investment,” Fonseca said.
She explained that one of the chamber’s core objectives is to connect investors with projects at various stages of development, acting as a bridge between companies seeking financing and investors looking for business opportunities in Angola.
Fonseca also highlighted the Lobito Corridor as one of the most significant structural projects for the growth of Africa’s extractive industry, arguing that the infrastructure could facilitate the export of resources from Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo while generating opportunities across logistics, agriculture, tourism and vocational training.
In her view, Angola must seize these projects to move beyond simple resource extraction toward full industrialisation — a process that, she said, requires closer coordination between institutions such as the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), sector operators and investors.
