The Luanda Port Company (E.P.) surpassed the one-million-metric-ton mark in cargo handled during the last three months of 2025, thereby confirming its central role in Angola’s domestic supply chain and economic growth.
The figures were announced on Tuesday, the 30th, by Transportation Minister Ricardo D’Abreu during the inauguration ceremony for three major infrastructure projects at the Port of Luanda, notably the electrical substation, the technology building, and the coastal shipping terminal.
The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing and strengthening operations at the country’s largest port, preparing it for a new generation of logistics services.
“The Port of Luanda continues to assert itself as one of the region’s leading logistics hubs, while simultaneously reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the professional development of its workforce,” he said.
According to the minister, the competitiveness of major logistics hubs no longer depends solely on their geographic location or the scale of their infrastructure, but also on their ability to integrate technology, manage real-time information, strengthen cybersecurity, optimize processes, and support decision-making through increasingly sophisticated and effective systems.
