Train services between Angola’s Cuanza Norte and Malanje provinces resumed on Thursday following the completion of repairs to the railway line on the section connecting Quizenga station in Malanje to Lucala station in Cuanza Norte.
The resumption was confirmed in a press release issued by the railway operator on Thursday.
According to the statement, the first train departed Luanda station at 03:00 on Friday, 31, bound for Malanje, hauling ten tanker wagons carrying gas.
A second train will depart from Lucala station in Cuanza Norte heading to Musseques station in Luanda, towing six wagons designated for general cargo.
