In 2025, the Port of Lobito closed the financial year with total revenues estimated at Kz 14.687 billion, representing a 6.4% increase compared to 2024, when approximately Kz 13.799 billion was collected.
The information was disclosed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Lobito, Celso Rosas, who clarified that the figures are preliminary, as the institution’s annual Report and Accounts are still being finalized.
The port’s financial performance mirrored the positive evolution of its operational activity. Throughout 2025, the port infrastructure received 407 vessels, 35 more than in the previous year, corresponding to a 9.4% increase in maritime traffic.
In terms of cargo, the total volume of goods handled reached 1.85 million tonnes, an increase of 345.3 thousand tonnes compared to the previous year, equivalent to an expansion of around 23%. Containerized cargo handling remained one of the institution’s main growth drivers.
In 2025, nearly 27,000 containers were handled, equivalent to approximately 31,000 TEUs, compared to 23,000 TEUs recorded in the previous year. In weight terms, containerized cargo totaled 429.9 thousand tonnes, 97 thousand tonnes more than in 2024, representing growth of 29.1%.
According to Celso Rosas, debt recovery remains one of the Port of Lobito’s main concerns, with an estimated Kz 32.863 billion still receivable from clients. On the other hand, the institution has outstanding debts to suppliers estimated at more than Kz 26.452 billion.
The operational and financial indicators were presented by the Chairman on Wednesday, the 14th, during the New Year greetings ceremony held at the Port of Lobito Staff House. On the occasion, the chairman emphasized that the results reflect the consolidation of operational recovery and improved efficiency in the services provided by the port infrastructure.
