Luanda will host the second edition of the Angola Hub Transport & Logistics Summit from 28 to 30 September, bringing together government representatives, logistics operators, investors and financial institutions to discuss infrastructure financing, regional economic integration and investment opportunities in the transport and logistics sectors.
Held under the theme “Driving Africa Forward: Markets, People and Opportunities”, this year’s edition is expected to bring together representatives from more than 20 countries, including start-ups from 14 of the 16 member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Among the announced participants are the World Bank and the Ministers of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Mozambique, as well as companies and institutions from Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, reinforcing the international dimension of the event.
The participation of the World Bank will place particular emphasis on infrastructure financing, investment and regional economic integration. Discussions are expected to address the role of logistics corridors and strategic infrastructure projects in expanding trade, increasing competitiveness and integrating African markets.
The agenda also includes the signing of agreements between the Ministry of Transport and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as between the Ministry of Transport, Opaia Motors and the Sovereign Fund of Angola (FSDEA).
One of the highlights of the 2026 edition will be the participation of start-ups from 14 SADC member states, which will present their projects during the summit. According to the organisers, the initiative aims to connect emerging companies with investors, financial institutions and potential partners, creating opportunities for funding and cooperation in transport and logistics projects.
Confirmed participants from the sector include the Port of Luanda, Port of Namibe/Sogester and the Port of Lobito. The business delegation will also include national and international operators such as TAAG, Sonair, DP World, Orey Africa, Noatum Ports, DHL and Aviapartner.
The list of participants also includes Sonangol, Standard Bank, Opaia Motors, NORS, Banco Sol, Banco Yetu, Oman African Bank, Dubai Investments Park, CFAO, Mota-Engil, Casais, Huawei and Copia Group of Companies.
According to António Santana, CEO of the Angola Hub Transport & Logistics Summit, the composition of the 2026 edition reflects Luanda’s growing capacity to bring together regional and international stakeholders around a common economic agenda.
“We are building a summit with a strong regional foundation and growing international reach. The presence of the World Bank, governments, financial institutions, operators, investors, companies and start-ups from 14 SADC countries demonstrates that transport and logistics are now a cross-cutting agenda for investment and Africa’s development. The objective is to bring projects, capital and strategic partners closer together,” he said.
