Angola’s President has authorised expenditure of approximately US$218.3 million (US$218,319,023.07) to fund construction of a water supply system serving the municipality of Cabo Ledo and the commune of Sangano, in Icolo e Bengo province.
The project forms part of the National Development Plan 2023–2027 and is designed to benefit thousands of families in Icolo e Bengo. Under Presidential Decree No. 261/26, the scheme aims to modernise water infrastructure and ensure access to potable water and sanitation, while reducing regional disparities.
According to the decree, the contract will be awarded through a simplified procurement procedure, given that the project is financed by external funding.
The approved figure already includes value-added tax at the statutory rate in force. The project has also been authorised for inclusion in the 2026 General State Budget (OGE) and the Public Investment Programme (PIP).
