Around 120 companies are participating in the first edition of the Bengo 2025 Industrial Investment Forum, which began yesterday in the city of Caxito. Held as part of the celebrations for Bengo Province—set to culminate on the 26th of this month, marking the 50th anniversary of National Independence—the event is primarily focused on attracting and internationalizing small and medium-sized enterprises in the region’s industrial sector, as well as creating tangible growth opportunities through digital technology and networking among individuals or groups who share personal and professional interests.
At the press conference, the Director of the Bengo Industrial Investment Forum, Pedro Barros Katendi, emphasized the significance of the event and anticipates lively debates.
“The main goal of the forum is to reflect on the level of production in both the manufacturing and extractive sectors, with the aim of creating partnerships between national and foreign companies based in Bengo Province,” he said.
He added that the event promises lively debates and the exchange of ideas, with the goal of finding solutions to the structural problems affecting the industrial sector “in the lands of Jacaré Bangão.”
More than 14 foreign ambassadors accredited in Angola are attending the event, aiming to explore the market for future business partnerships in both the manufacturing and extractive industries.
“We want to operationalize the Bengo Industrial Development Hub network (PDI), promote best practices within local industries, and showcase the best services through the business community and society,” said Pedro Barros Katendi.
In addition to the Industrial Investment Forum, the organization has also prepared an exhibition titled “Made in Bengo Province.”
Before the end of the year, the Provincial Government is set to inaugurate 11 companies at the “Sino Ord” Industrial Park, located in the Barra do Dande Free Trade Zone.
