Around 150 million USD will be invested in the construction of a total of 50 factories producing electrical cables, in the textile industry, and in the development of industrial hubs in the provinces of Icolo and Bengo, as well as in other agriculture-related investments in the near future. This initiative comes from Chinese business groups and the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce (CAC).
The announcement was made by Luís Copenãla, President of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, during the opening of the Jinhua-Angola Opportunities and Investment Forum recently held in Luanda, attended by 60 entrepreneurs from the People’s Republic of China, Angolan government officials, and presidents of business groups from both countries.
During the forum, nine cooperation agreements were signed between business groups for the implementation of industrial hubs, specifically in Icolo and Bengo, and other agriculture-related projects in various provinces.
On the occasion, Luís Copenãla emphasized that the focus of investment is on Icolo and Bengo due to their historical significance and economic and tourist resources. “Within the framework of the country’s new political and administrative division, the CAC and its associates are working to place Icolo and Bengo on the map of Chinese investment interest,” he said.
