The province of Huíla will participate with 30 startups in the 5th edition of the International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies of Angola (ANGOTIC 2025), presented this Friday in Lubango.
These startups operate in the fields of digital transformation and agribusiness, offering digital solutions for challenges across various areas of knowledge.
Speaking at the event on Saturday, the provincial director of the National Institute for the Support of Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) in Huíla, Julieta de Oliveira, confirmed the province’s participation, highlighting Huíla’s growing prominence in the technology sector.
“At the moment, we have 30 incubated startups that we are preparing to participate in the event. In 2024, we participated with five, and as a result, we secured a memorandum of understanding with Huawei, which led to the establishment of a laboratory sponsored by the multinational,” she recalled.
The ANGOTIC 2025 edition, scheduled for June 12-14 in Luanda, will focus on themes such as connectivity, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital DNA, and trust in businesses.
ANGOTIC was internationalized in 2018, attracting nearly 5,000 participants, with an average of 21 sessions over three days, featuring 115 speakers, 33 participating companies, and 120 startups.
The event was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the 2024 edition reached 15,000 participants over three days, with the presence of companies and more than 100 startups.
