The inaugural Expo Lunda-Norte, held from 30 July to 2 August in Mussunge municipality, served as a catalyst for strengthening commercial ties and business partnerships between local and national entrepreneurs across multiple sectors, according to exhibitors who attended the fair.
Speaking to ANGOP, participants described the expo as a productive platform for sales and for showcasing the country’s economic potential.
Domingos da Costa, a general trade businessman based in Lunda-Norte, said the event enabled his company to sell vehicles while exchanging business experience with investors from different industries and provinces.
António José Congo, owner of a Luanda-based company specialising in hospital equipment sales and clinical consultancy, said he viewed the Expo as an opportunity to demonstrate Angola’s commercial and cultural breadth, as reflected in the diversity of businesses on display.
Congo noted that his company exhibited hospital beds, medical mannequins for health training schools, anaesthesia machines, wheelchairs and other medical equipment for sale, while primarily focusing on attracting partners and prospective reseller clients.
Entrepreneurs from the agricultural and livestock sector said the expo offered a timely opportunity to sell and promote the quality of food products typical of Lunda-Norte, as well as to sign supply contracts.
Carlos Daniel, Vice-President of the Lunda-Norte Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the fair brought together the province’s most prominent business associations around a shared goal of expanding trade and boosting the regional economy.
Daniel added that companies present at the expo were able to forge partnerships among themselves — a development he said would help diversify the local economy.
