The Quarterly Survey on the Progress and Monitoring of Buildings Under Construction (ITAEPC) conducted by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) recorded 2,838 halted construction projects in the second quarter of 2025, out of a total of 3,544 projects surveyed during this period.
Benguela province leads the country in terms of stalled projects, with a total of 939, followed by Uíge with 491 and Moxico with 212. In contrast, Namibe shows a significantly better performance, with only seven projects remaining stalled.
The survey also indicated that 706 projects were actively under construction during the quarter, marking an increase of 212 ongoing projects compared to previous data.
This represents 6.36% of all projects surveyed during the second quarter. The findings highlight regional disparities in construction activity and underscore the challenges faced by the construction sector in ensuring continuity and timely completion of projects across the country.
