Angolan delivery startup Mamboo, launched in April 2020, has reached the milestone of one million deliveries in five years — an average of 200,000 deliveries per year — in a market characterized by high levels of informality and still underdeveloped digital services, particularly in the delivery sector.

Mamboo, which is more than just a logtech (logistics technology startup), makes history in a context marked by low consumer spending, limited purchasing power, low digital literacy, and insufficient trust in digital services — crucial factors for the success of delivery companies, whose growth depends directly on consumer confidence and usage.
“More than just a number, this milestone represents millions of stories of trust, convenience, and connection. With every delivery, we reinforce our commitment to making the daily lives of Angolans simpler and more connected,” said Kaê Carvalho, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Mamboo, in a statement sent to Expansão.
According to the company, in 2024 the startup recorded 275,000 orders and is projected to reach 320,000 this year, representing a 15% growth compared to the previous period.

Over the past five years, Mamboo has created more than 300 direct and indirect jobs and currently works with over 980 partners. The startup now operates across three major integrated segments:
- Marketplace – A digital platform where customers can find restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and convenience stores, with a network of over 600 active partners.
- Logistics – Delivery services for both person-to-person (P2P) and business clients, using a crowdsourcing model that relies on drivers and couriers to complete deliveries based on demand. Operations are managed intelligently and in real time, meaning the system optimizes routes, monitors delivery status, and adjusts logistics dynamically as new requests come in.
- Fintech – Through Mamboo Pay, the company’s digital wallet, users can send money, split bills, and make transactions easily, securely, and free of charge.
