MEO Wholesale Solutions and TelCables Europa, a brand under the Angola Cables group, have announced a strategic partnership to create a new high-capacity connectivity link between Brazil and Portugal. The agreement was formalized during the Submarine & Infra Summit (SIS) 2025, organized by the Carrier Community.
The collaboration connects the MEO LDV data center in Portugal directly to the AngoNAP data center in Fortaleza, Brazil, via a submarine fiber optic network.
“This partnership creates the first ‘business superhighway’ between Lisbon and Fortaleza, accelerating data traffic and promoting the delivery of digital services in Portuguese. Together, we are building a stronger, more agile, and more global digital ecosystem,” said Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal (MEO’s parent company), on Instagram.
The initiative aims to provide faster, safer, and more reliable connections, while offering greater IP traffic capacity. It also paves the way for the development of joint solutions and easier access to a global network interconnecting hundreds of data centers and cloud points of presence (PoPs).
“With this alliance, MEO and Angola Cables reinforce their commitment to strengthening the digital economy and building robust infrastructure to support the growing volume of data driven by the global digital transformation,” MEO celebrated in a social media post announcing the news.
