Lobito Port attended the Annual State-Owned Enterprises Forum (E-SEP 2026) on Tuesday, an event organised by the Institute for State Asset and Shareholding Management (IGAPE) and the Ministry of Finance (MINFIN) to recognise Angola’s best-performing, most efficient and most innovative public companies. The port authority’s delegation was led by its board chairman, Celso Rosas.
On the sidelines of the forum, Rosas highlighted the company’s management track record, noting that Lobito Port’s financial accounts and reports have been consistently approved without reservations. He attributed that performance to transparent governance underpinned by regular accountability, continuous dialogue with employees and sustained investment in human capital development.
“Lobito Port participates in E-SEP 2026 with a commitment to continuing to promote operational excellence, transparency and financial sustainability,” Rosas said. “This forum has established itself as the principal platform for strategic evaluation, performance recognition and reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing Angola’s state-owned enterprise sector.”
The board chairman also pledged that the company would continue to invest in the modernisation of its infrastructure and in staff capacity-building, with the aim of consolidating its position as a strategic asset for the country’s socioeconomic development and for strengthening public finances.
Held at the InterContinental Hotel in Luanda under the theme “The SEP as a lever for development and the sustainability of public finances”, E-SEP 2026 brought together government ministers, public company executives, regulators, academics and private-sector representatives to debate the future of state enterprise management in Angola.
The highlight of the gathering was the awards ceremony recognising the best-performing state-owned companies across three categories: High-Conditionality Enterprises, Reference Enterprises, and Best State-Owned Enterprise. Diamond miner ENDIAMA was named Best State Enterprise of 2025, succeeding telecoms group Unitel, which won the previous edition.
Beyond the awards gala, the forum hosted roundtables and panel discussions focused on sustainability, efficiency and innovation challenges facing public companies. For IGAPE, the annual meeting represents a milestone in the consolidation of a modern, competitive and results-oriented model of public enterprise management.
