Germany’s Robert Bosch Group is expanding its Angola operations this month to cover four new business lines — home appliances, heating and air-conditioning systems, industrial hydraulic solutions and automotive aftermarket parts — extending a presence in the country that had until now been limited to the distribution of power tools.
The announcement was made by Markus Thill, President of Robert Bosch Africa, who said the move reflects both the company’s deepening commitment to the Angolan market, where it first established operations in 2014, and its response to growing local demand across multiple sectors.
Thill made the remarks during Bosch’s participation in FILDA 2026, where the group is presenting its new strategic direction under the tagline ‘More Bosch, More Technology, More Angola’. He said the expansion would allow the company to consolidate its footprint, strengthen ties with local clients and deepen partnerships with Angolan distributors.
“Anchored in three strategic pillars — Innovation, Acceleration and Simplification — this new phase reinforces Bosch’s commitment to Angola’s economic and technological development. It is a step that will allow us to further localise the brand, enhance our portfolio and contribute to job creation by transferring Bosch’s international know-how to the country,” Thill said.
Paulo Ricardo, Director-General for Administration and Finance at Bosch Angola, described the expansion as a natural evolution of the company’s journey over the past 12 years in the country.
“Today we take an important step by integrating new business areas, with particular emphasis on home appliances, thermal technology, hydraulics, Home Comfort systems and, above all, the automotive segment through the aftermarket business. This growth means greater operational autonomy for our Angola unit and broader employment opportunities,” Ricardo said.
