German multinational Bosch has significantly deepened its commitment to Angola, expanding its local operations into four new business divisions in a strategy aimed at consolidating the company’s market presence, driving job creation and accelerating the transfer of technology to the country, Forbes África Lusófona reported.
The announcement was made during FILDA 2026 — the country’s flagship international trade fair, which closed on Wednesday — where the group unveiled its new positioning under the tagline ‘More BOSCH, More Technology, More Angola’.
From this month, Bosch will officially represent four global divisions in Angola: Home Appliances (domestic appliances), Home Comfort (water heaters and air-conditioning systems), Rexroth (industrial solutions) and Mobility Aftermarket, dedicated to the supply of spare parts for the automotive sector.
The portfolio diversification marks a strategic leap for the Angolan operation, which until now had been focused exclusively on the distribution of power tools.
Having entered the Angolan market in 2014, the company views this expansion as a response to the evolving needs of the local business community and consumer market, broadening its range of technological and industrial solutions in an economy that is actively seeking to diversify beyond the oil sector.
Markus Thill, president of Robert Bosch Africa, said the new phase rests on three strategic pillars — innovation, acceleration and simplification — and is designed to strengthen the company’s proximity to local clients and partners.
‘This new phase reinforces Bosch’s commitment to Angola’s economic and technological development. It is a step that will allow us to localise the brand even further, enhance our portfolio and contribute to greater job creation, transferring Bosch’s international know-how to the country,’ Thill said.
For Paulo Ricardo, Director-General for Administration and Finance at Bosch Angola, the expansion represents a natural evolution of the journey begun in the country 12 years ago and will give the national operation greater scale and autonomy. ‘Today we are taking an important step by integrating new business areas, with particular emphasis on home appliances, thermal technology, hydraulics and, above all, the automotive segment through the aftermarket. This growth means more autonomy for operations in Angola and greater employability,’ he said.
Alongside the diversification of its activities, Bosch announced a reorganisation of its leadership structure in Angola, a move designed to streamline processes and decentralise decision-making.
Under the new management model, Paulo Ricardo will lead Local Operations and Compliance, while Maurílio Carbonel Mateus assumes responsibility for Business Strategy and Marketing, with the objective of enhancing operational agility and the company’s capacity to respond to clients and partners.
The expansion represents one of the most significant reinforcements of Bosch’s presence in Angola since the company entered the national market, and reflects the growing interest of multinational industrial groups in consumer, industrial and mobility sectors — areas regarded as strategic to Angola’s broader economic diversification agenda.
