Around 400 Chinese Companies Operate in Angola with Investments Totaling USD 27 Billion

Approximately 400 medium and large Chinese companies are currently operating in Angola, with a combined investment of about 27 billion US dollars, announced the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, this week in Luanda.

Speaking at the opening of the Chinese Companies Job Fair at Agostinho Neto University, the ambassador noted that these investments have created a significant number of jobs and generated tax revenue, in addition to contributing to the training of many local professionals.

He highlighted that many Chinese companies, guided by the principles of mutual benefit and shared development, have actively participated in Angola’s economic growth, engaging in sectors such as infrastructure, energy and mining, agriculture, industry, communications, services, and finance.

According to Zhang Bin, these companies have not only contributed to the country’s economic development but have also become “deeply integrated” into local society.

“Angola is a country rich in natural resources, full of vitality and hope, with enormous development potential. Agostinho Neto University, as the most prestigious higher education institution in Angola, has always followed the principle of seeking truth and serving society, training a large number of outstanding talents for Angola and for the entire African continent,” he emphasized.

The ambassador also reaffirmed that Angola and China are friends and partners who walk side by side, stressing that the Chinese government attaches great importance to mutually beneficial cooperation and encourages Chinese companies to actively fulfill their social responsibilities by offering young Angolans more opportunities for professional training and career development.

He underscored that the friendship between the two countries has deep roots and continues to yield fruitful results.

In this regard, Zhang Bin expressed hope that the fair would serve as a new starting point to further strengthen cooperation between the two nations in talent development and job creation, allowing young people’s aspirations to flourish and the Sino-Angolan friendship to bear even more abundant fruit.

Regarding the event, he explained that its main purpose is to build a platform for cooperation and mutual selection — helping Chinese companies attract more Angolan talent, thus promoting their localization and sustainable growth.

At the same time, the fair offers students from Agostinho Neto University more employment opportunities and a stage to realize their ambitions.
