With this move, the three carriers officially leave 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, leaving that airport with only one foreign airline operating regular flights—a clear sign of its declining role as an international hub. Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) will, from February 2, 2026, host the regular operations of Royal Air Maroc, Turkish Airlines, and ASKY Airlines, as part of the gradual transfer of international flights to Luanda’s new airport infrastructure.

According to a statement from AIAAN’s operator, connections to Casablanca, Istanbul, and Lomé will now be served from the new facility, strengthening direct connectivity between the provinces of Icolo and Bengo and some of the main international air hubs. Arrival times at AIAAN are scheduled for 06:10 (Casablanca), 15:45 (Istanbul), and 17:00 (Lomé).
The transfer of these operations consolidates AIAAN as the new center of international air traffic in Angola, integrating Luanda into a vast global network covering more than 130 countries through the connections provided by the three airlines. For the sector, this represents a decisive step in the strategic repositioning of the new airport, both operationally and commercially.
For 4 de Fevereiro Airport, the departure of Royal Air Maroc, Turkish Airlines, and ASKY marks another setback in its historical role as the country’s main air gateway, leaving it increasingly limited to residual, domestic, or specific operations in a transition process expected to accelerate throughout 2026.
