Cabinda Leads TAAG’s Domestic Operations with 43% of Weekly Flights Between January and November 2025

The airline reports an operational performance rate close to 98%, with residual cancellations of around 2%.

The province of Cabinda stood out as TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola’s main domestic destination between January and November 2025, accounting for around 43% of the total weekly flights operated by the airline on domestic routes.

On average, the airline operated four daily flights on the Luanda–Cabinda route, corresponding to 28 weekly frequencies, transporting 227,857 passengers.

On a monthly basis, Cabinda received an average of approximately 19,918 passengers, confirming the regularity of operations and the high demand associated with the strategic importance of this air route, according to TAAG.

In a press release consulted this Monday, the 15th, by Economia & Mercado (E&M), the airline revealed that its operational performance achieved a flight completion rate close to 98%, with cancellations limited to around 2%.

In addition, TAAG explained that delays and cancellations may result from various factors, including technical, operational and meteorological reasons, as well as the operational capacity of the destination airport. External factors also play a role, such as disruptions in the global supply chain, which “affect the commercial aviation sector”.

“As part of network planning and fleet allocation for the Cabinda route, TAAG mainly operates Boeing 737 aircraft, with a total capacity of 120 passengers, suitable for the high volume of passenger and cargo traffic. In addition, some services are operated using Dash-8 Q400 aircraft, with a capacity of 74 passengers, ensuring operational flexibility and efficiency,” the press release states.
