Zambezi Valley Finances Installation of Rice Processing Plants

The Zambezi Valley Agency is funding with more than 36 million meticals for the installation of rice husking and processing factories in Zambezia province.
The amount benefited entrepreneurs, who through the co-financing of Zambezi Agency, installed four processing units of that cereal in the districts of Nicoadala, Quelimane and Maganja da Costa.
Even with the installation of those rice processing units, Zambézia is still facing difficulties in the supply of raw material due to low production levels of this crop.
The Governor of Zambezia, Pio Matos, addressed by Radio Mozambique last Friday acknowledged the fact and believes that gradually the production of the cereal may increase.
